Independent Study Physical Education (ISPE)

Please note:
Not all schools and school district participate in this program and they may  have their own specific requirements for students to qualify. The school and school district requirements are separate from the specific requirements required by South Bay Archery Lessons.  It is the responsibility of the parents to acquire the appropriate school forms required for the child to participate in this program and submit to the range for review to see if the child also qualifies to participate in ISPE at this location based on the school and school districts specific corresponding requirements.

Most schools require 10 hours of physical education per 5 school week days.
For ISPE, many districts also require the student to actively train for and participate in elite level events, competitions and tournaments like “in school” Varsity sports do

      • private 1-1 Lessons must be pre-scheduled in advance for the upcoming month

  • Be willing to attend Open Shooting a minimum of 2 days/week to independently work on further fine tuning newly learned archery form and techniques learned in weekly 1-1 lessons.  (no official instruction during Open Shooting)

  • Be willing to participate in the in-house competitive club known as the California Indoor Archers (aka “the CIA” ) under the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) group, once that group’s separate and specific prerequisites are met

  • Be willing to participate actively in tournaments at the discretion and suggestion of the competitive training coach.  This will serve to provide continued proof to your student’s school that the student is an actively competitive athlete as required by many schools and school districts.
