USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification: Practical Course Only
The USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certification course provides graduates the necessary tools to maintain a high level of safety both on and off the archery range for camps and beginner archery programs. To successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification online course, including the online exam and register for and complete the "in-person" USA Archery Level 1 Instructor practical course to officially receive a USA Archery Level 1 Instructor certificate of completion.
Level 1 Instructor Prerequisites:
- Minimum Age: 15
(A student who is 14 years old and within 30 days of his or her 15th birthday may take the Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification course. However, the instructor may not submit the Applicant Data form until the student turns 15 years of age.)
Benefits:
- Qualified to be the lead Instructor for an Explore Archery Program
- Eligible for USA Archery insurance coverage. See USA Archery Insurance page for requirements**.
- All Level 1 Instructors who assist in a USA Archery Club are required to obtain a Range Pass.

USA Archery 2 Instructor Certification: Practical Course Only
(Combined 1 & 2 OR Stand-alone Level 2 option)
The USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification online course provides graduates the necessary tools to serve as the lead instructor for long-term archery programs such as Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD), Adult Archery Program and Collegiate Archery Program clubs, and the Explore Archery Program. To successfully complete the requirements for this certification, students must successfully pass the USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification online course, including the online exam and register for and complete the "in-person" USA Archery Level 2 Instructor practical course.
The USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Certification online course includes the USA Archery Level 1 Instructor online certification course information and provides students with an introduction to the National Training System (NTS) Steps of Shooting for recurve and compound, equipment and accessory setup, athlete development and events.
In addition to passing the course, instructors must have current U.S. Center for SafeSport training, current USA Archery Background Screen, and a current USA Archery or National Field Archery Association membership.
USA Archery Level 1 Instructor Certification is not a prerequisite for this course.
Level 2 Instructor Prerequisites (these may be separate charges, not collected by this location but done directly through USA Archery or other associations):
- Minimum Age: 18 (A student who is 17 years old and within 30 days of his or her 18th birthday may take the Level 2 Archery Instructor Certification Course. However, the instructor may not submit the Applicant Data form until the student turns 18 years of age.)
- Membership to USA Archery* or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA)
- U.S. Center for SafeSport Training
- USA Archery Background Screening (Please note: you will not be able to register for the level 2 course until the screening has been cleared by NCSI. Screenings typically take about 7-10 business days to clear)

*A Temporary, Recreational, and/or Youth Membership option will not satisfy the membership requirement.
