ALL Participants MUST adhere to the Safety Rules & Policies of the Range and COVID-19 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS at ALL times
Any participant that is found displaying ANY unsafe range behavior or inappropriate behavior in any way will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.

  • Those who come in with their own equipment must
    1. participate in a 5-minumber (add-on $5) Range Safety review the 1st time they come in to shoot, no exceptions
    2. Shoot safely and consistently in their own lane from 18 Meters/20 Yards during the duration of the Open Shooting session they attend
  • Those who need to rent range equipment must have met all of the following pre-requisites before being able to reserve and rent equipment:
    1. have had at least one private lesson at the range with a USAA authorized coach.  Additional lessons may be required if Coach does not feel archer is safe or ready to shoot at 18 M / 20 Y yet.
    2. Only after a coach feels that the student is ready, will that student receive a Safety Course Documentation / Approved to attend Open Shooting (OS)” card that was signed by at least one of the approved coaches at the range, which allows them to request a “Range ID Card” to be able to attend Open Shooting
    3. Shoot safely and consistently in their own lane from 18 Meters/20 Yards during the duration of the Open Shooting session they attend

Only those who have one of the following a specially created cards or it is a participant’s 1st time coming in with their own equipment (see Rules & Requirements tab):

  • Approved Participant Range ID Card(replaces the “Recurring Range Participant ID Card” starting in 2022)
  • Recurring Range Participant ID Card” (stopped production at end of 2021)
  • California Indoor Archers (aka “the CIA”) Club Member ID Card”  (active in-house competative club members only)

Participants should arrive 15 minutes early to set up their equipment outside.  Please do not enter the range until the Open Shooting session officially begins.  If no one arrives 10 minutes after the last available time on a specifically available date, the coach on site may close up the range at their discretion unless specifically requested to remain and advised that a participant is running late.

For additional health safety, any non participants (parents or others) must wait outside at a safe distance from the entrance. No bags or miscellaneous equipment will be permitted in the range except what the participants has on them while shooting.  All other items should be kept locked in their cars as the range is not responsible for items left outside the range.  

Participants will need to exit the range immediately once their Open Shooting session has concluded to allow the coaches time to sanitize everything for the next group.

Open Shooting (OS)
(Rates Effective As Of September 1, 2021)

“Lane Rental + Range Equipment” option is only available for range approved students who have met the required criteria.

10 Packs and Special “Passes” are available for range approved students or those with their own equipment who have met the required criteria and have come to Open Shooting safely at least one time before.

Pack and Pass holders must still reserve their session in order to ensure they have a lane when they arrive. Walk-ins are not available currently

Open Shooting can be attended only on Tuesday – Friday during one of the following time slots (✓) and is subject to first come first serve, for those with special authorization only (See “Rules & Requirements” and “Who Can Attend?”)

Due to COVID-19 we no longer loan used targets to non  California Indoor Archers (aka “the CIA”) club members for health and safety. You must either

  • bring your own paper target from home
  • purchase a paper target on-site for $1 (40cm / 60cm / Vegas 3-spot), which yours  to take with you when you leave the range
  • Shoot “blank bale” style if you do not have your own target or do not wish to buy one

We do NOT rent range equipment except to approved students with one of the range ID cards mentioned in the

“Who Can Attend? How To Attend?” section above
