Charter School Student FAQs

Parents & Guardians,

Please make sure that you read the FAQs below which are Terms of Service for our archery range as they pertain specifically to charter school students.

Our goal is to provide all students with the best experiences possible while ensuring that there is no confusion with regards to specific services offered and provided by this charter school vendor and which are not as they relate to our vendor agreement with your charter school.

Actual lesson scheduling CANNOT be done through your charter school and MUST  be done through the range location directly (no exceptions)

Lesson Scheduling Procedure:

  1. Make sure that you have reached out to your charter school administrator to process your charter certificate or school funds  request & validation before scheduling with this location as you will need advise the coach of the certificate number for validation of the lesson
  2. Once you have your confirmed certificate of funds, you will be able to contact the range directly to request to schedule a private lesson for your child.
    1. via webform (quickest preferred way to ensure we receive your request and process ASAP)
    2. via phone: (855) 467-2260 ext 1 (Coach Paul)
  3. Once all is confirmed by phone or via email with Coach Paul, you will receive an  official written email confirmation that contains a specific Session ID#.  If you do not receive this, then you do not have a confirmed lesson with the range.  If you feel this is in error, then please contact the range again to have the email resent to you.

Mandatory Minimum Age: 8 (at the time of the scheduled lessons)

Due to insurance and liability requirements, this is non-negotiable

Currently and in the past we have had students from the following schools:

Previously:

  • Valiant Preparatory / Summit Academy (closed)
  • Inspire Charter Schools (closed)

While Charter schools ask that parents and students sign a waiver for using their vendors, the South Bay Archery Lessons location requires that parents and students fill out a range specific waiver prior to their first lesson as is required by our insurance and liability carrier.

Failure to do this may result in the inability to attend or begin a lesson until the waiver is completed and digitally submitted to the range.

  1. Waivers For Minor (age 8 – 17)
  2. Waivers for Students 18+

Students who use range equipment must wear a mask while using the equipment unless vaccinated.

This is because range equipment is shared between students and the bowstring (when properly used) touches the mouth.  While we do sanitize, this adds an extra layer of protection.

See here for regular mask policy updates

While charter schools are exempt from the up-front Deposit Policy, failure to adhere to the 48 hour advance notice Cancellation/Rescheduling and “No Show” Policies will mean that the full private lesson rate will still be due at time of future lesson rescheduling.  Please see the full policy by clicking here

Please note that the deposit amount is the same as that of a single person private lesson.  See lesson rates here.

While, many charter schools allow a 24-hour cancellation policy for their students, we at South Bay Archery Lessons require a 48-Hour cancellation or rescheduling request time to ensure we can successfully fill the empty private appointment timeslot.

This policy is the same as that of our other in-house students and customers.

Refunds should be requested from your charter school administrator as funds are handled by them and not by the range.

We are more than happy to verify any information for refund requests that you make to your charter school administrator should they adhere to our  Cancellation/Rescheduling or “No Show” Policies.

The range does not receive their payment from your charter school until NET 30 days after scheduled lesson dates/times each month have concluded or passed.

Yes, non-charter school students may join a charter school student’s privately scheduled lesson.

Howeverfunds from the school may not be used for the additional participant.  The charter student is responsible for the deposit (single person lesson) amount using their charter funds since that rate never changes.

The add-on participant (non-charter school only), will be responsible for paying the remaining balance of the lesson.

example:
A parent decides to join their charter student’s 1-person private lesson ($90) last minute making it a 2 person private lesson ($150).  The charter student is still responsible for the $90 amount because it was their private lesson, but the parent is responsible for paying the $60 difference due in full (cash, check, credit card) at the time of the lesson in order to join their child in the lesson.

As long as students use Charter school credits / funds / certificates, they are not eligible to qualify for any special group rate discounts as our normal in-house range students are able to.

This is because charter schools require that funds only be used for private lessons and each charter student is required to have their own certificate as outlined by the charter schools in signed agreements with the school and as such each student is treated as an individual student at a single private student’s rate with no eligibility for discounts.

While, multiple charter students may combine their lessons together with other students from their school, each individual student will still be charged/invoiced at the normal single student rate.

See lesson rates here.

As long as students use Charter school credits / funds / certificates, they are not eligible to qualify for any special camps, programs or other events as our normal in-house range students are able to.

This is because each charter school requires that the school funds be used only for private individual lessons.  Charter school funds may not be used for anything outside of private lessons.

Please note that the deposit amount is the same as that of a single person private lesson.  See lesson rates here.
