The California Indoor Archers (aka: “the CIA”) is an official USA Archery (USAA) and/or the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) sanctioned club that is primarily focused on refining the archer and preparing them for competing in local, state, regional, national or higher level tournaments.
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) and Adult Archery Program (AAP) options are available under the club “The California Indoor Archers”
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD)
Ages 8 – 20
JOAD Monthly Class Schedule (4 times per month):
- By Invite Only, once prerequisites have been fully met
- Membership Fee: $60 Annual renewal + $100 per month per student (no pro-rating)
- 1st Three (3) Saturdays (Beginner – Advanced) or 1st Three (3) Sundays (Elite Only) each month at the times listed will be instruction and training
- 4th Saturday (Beginner – Advanced) or Sunday (Elite Only) each month will be a Tournament Style Pin Shoot to gauge student progress and prepare archers for tournaments
- 5th Saturday / Sunday in a month there will be NO lesson

Intermediate | • ALL prerequisites of Beginner Group + • Must have achieved 4th JOAD Achievement Pin (score based – 300 point round) • Able to consistently shoot from no closer than the 20 yard / 18 meter Shooting Line at no larger than a 40cm target • USAA Membership* • Competes in at least 2 tournaments of their choosing (school team, charity, local, state, national, international) each year |
Advanced | • ALL pre-requisites of Beginner & Intermediate Groups + • Must have achieved 7th JOAD Achievement Pin (score based – 300 point round) • USAA Membership* • Competes in at least 1 California State (USAA) tournaments each year • Competing in at least 2 additional tournaments of their choosing (school team, charity, local, state, national, international) each year |
Elite not available until February 2020 | • ALL pre-requisites of Beginner & Intermediate Groups + • Student was previously in the Intermediate or Advance group and now wishes to proceed with higher competition training and ranking. • Practices/Trains at least once a week in addition to the normally scheduled weekly weekend group class • Competes in at least 3 California State (USAA) tournaments each year • Competing in at least 3 additional tournaments of their choosing (school team, charity, local, state, national, international) each year Once all the above prerequisites have been met or have already been committed to both coaches will approve the student’s advancement to this level through an official invite |
Adult Archery Program (AAP)
Ages 21+
AAP Monthly Class Schedule (4 times per month):
- By Invite Only, once prerequisites have been fully met
- Membership Fee: $75 Annual renewal + $100 per month per student (no pro-rating)
- 1st Three (3) Sundays (Beginner – Elite) each month at the times listed will be instruction and training
- 4th Sunday (Beginner – Elite) each month will be a Tournament Style Pin Shoot to gauge student progress and prepare archers for tournaments
- 5th Sunday in a month there will be NO lesson
